How much electricity do you need to heat your home? Based on extensive tests and with the help of certain calculations we established 50 to 90 Watt per Qm, which have been proven realistic.

Roughly calculated heat requirement:

1external wall

2 external walls

3 external walls

4 external walls

Room with good to very good insulation.

50 Watt / QM

60 Watt / QM

70 Watt / QM

80 Watt / QM

Room with old standard insulation.

70 Watt / QM

80 Watt / QM

90 Watt / QM

100 Watt / QM

Room in old building with poor insulation.

90 Watt / QM

100 Watt / QM

110 Watt / QM

120 Watt / QM

The figures stated have been calculated to ensure a comfortable development of heat during cold winter days. The basis for this calculation is a room height of 2,50 m and an outside temperature of up to -10ー c. Please note that these are only approximate figures, definite accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Depending on construction type and clima region these consumption figures can be considerably more or less favourable.

Our tip

Take 100 to 200 Watt more than needed regarding our calculation
Why does more watt mean less engery costs?
With an heat output of 600 Watt you need approximately 30 min. to heat the room to the desired temperature. This would be 6 cent electricity cost to the price of 20 cent per Kwh. With an heat output of 800 Watt an hour you would only need 20 min. to heat the room. Electricity cost would be only 5,3 cent here. Due to the larger radiation surface the heat can be distributed evenly and a higher comfort level can be achieved.

Very important!
The radiation heat of the infrared heating systems warm up any matter. The sooner the room has completed its own thermal storage, the sooner the matter (wall, ceiling, floor, furniture, people etc.) is able to release the heat back into the room. This heat is then available free of charge.

Due to the low heating costs, you will be able to keep your energy costs low long term, even though there are slighty higher acquisition costs.

The infrared heating system should always be used with a room thermostat to avoid unneseccary electricity costs.
